Peter Rizakos, LLB, MBA, Consultant

Peter Rizakos is a corporate and commercial lawyer and senior executive with over four-decades of experience focused on financial services and other industries, as legal counsel and other senior executive management roles. 

In 1993, after practicing with Blakes, one of Canada’s pre-eminent law firms, he established the legal department and was a member of the senior management team at Altamira Investment Services Inc. Altamira was a leading independent asset management firm consisting of mutual fund, institutional and private equity assets and a staff of 250 people across Canada. Peter was also a member of the transaction team in the successful sale of Altamira to the National Bank of Canada in 2002.

In the last two decades, Peter has been involved with a mix of asset and wealth management, natural resource and medical research companies. 

Peter focuses on corporate and securities law, including mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, corporate governance and other commercial matters. He has extensive experience in securities regulatory matters, including registrant formation and ongoing compliance. He has advised or worked with a range of early to mid-stage companies, handling a variety of matters such as capital raising through equity and debt offerings, shareholder agreements and employment issues.
